About Us

Hello, we're Jill and Emilia, a mother-daughter team based in Hong Kong.

Emilia has always loved drawing and making things. In particular, like many children, she became fascinated by tie-dye. Her favourite thing to wear as a baby was a tie-dye T-shirt we bought on Lamma Island. Since then, we've travelled to my birthplace - Yunnan, China - and my mother's birthplace - Guizhou, China - to make tie-dye and learn about traditional dyeing methods from local artisans.

Shek O Beach Club was born out of this passion to create as well as a love of the outdoors. It's named after our happy place.

Designing and making tees together has become a great adventure for both of us (as well as for Emilia's younger brother and sister who often get involved).
